Spunge Game is on the lookout for an experienced Senior VR Engineer for an immediate start to work on an exciting Meta-funded MR project. With the opportunity to work remotely with the occasional team meeting in the office, we would love for you to join our team for our upcoming project and to have some fun along the way!

Spunge Games is part of a collective of companies with shared ownership and complementary skills, including Liquid Animation, one of Australia’s top animation studios and Liquid Interactive, a leading digital experience agency.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Developing and maintaining the tools and systems necessary for implementing gameplay features
  • Design, implement, and optimize maintainable code
  • Develop techniques to optimize the game systems' overall performance, stability, and scalability
  • Testing, debugging, profiling and optimizing implementations.
  • Experienced with environmental interaction and hand tracking
  • Solve technical problems that may arise in the development of the game
  • Think creatively and critically to expand user experiences into new virtual reality mediums
  • Collaborate with a small team  to create and refine game mechanics

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 6+ years of experience in the production of games for consoles with a minimum 12-month VR experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Unity Game engine
  • A track record of implementing and improving design systems, workflows, and processes
  • Advanced skills in C#
  • Automate deployment to target platforms
  • Strong creative ideas and imagination with a passion for creating fun, compelling and addictive user experiences
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to articulate, lead and drive the game design process.
  • Positive attitude, self-driven and possessing a collaborative spirit, able to work with and lead a team

BONUS POINTS:

  • Strong optimization skills and ability to identify bottlenecks and memory complexities
  • Development and publishing of games on the Quest platform

This is a Full-Time fixed-term contract running to the end of year with the possibility of a permanent position. Renumeration will be commensurate with experience.
